The Ben Avery Shooting Facility is a professionally managed and operated, safe, fun, family based, customer friendly, shooting sports recreational facility which provides a quality experience with a homelike atmosphere for a variety of shooting sports activities and events now and well into the future.

The facility covers 1650 acres, the largest public operated shooting facility in the country.  It is owned by the citizens of Arizona and operated by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

Hours of Operation

The main range is open to the public:
Summer: (May 1 – September 1)
Wednesday – Sunday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Winter: (September 2 – April 30)
Wednesday – Sunday 7:00 am – until 20 minutes before Sunset

The Facility is CLOSED MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS

The BASF is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, & Christmas Day

If weather appears unstable, please call ahead, we frequently experience range closure due to high wind.

All day shooting for Adults    $5.00
Youth (under 18)    FREE

Safety Rules

ALWAYS treat firearms as loaded.

ALWAYS keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.

ALWAYS be sure of your target, and beyond.

ALWAYS obey all posted safety rules.

As a shooter at BASF, you are personally responsible for safety!

The Ben Avery Shooting Facility does not sell or rent rifles or pistols, nor does the Ben Avery Shooting Facility sell rifle or pistol ammunition.

The Clay Target Center does rent shotguns and sell shotgun ammunition.
